![]() ![]() Man, I spent £600 on the complete composers collection and want to write with it, but I'm getting a headache! Lol So really is this an issue with the Eastwest play vsti, something in the midi file, or am I just missing something here? Man I'm going crazy with this. Also what I did was I removed one of the instruments in play vsti such as The Dholak on midi channel 3, then added it again and assigned it back to midi channel 3, armed The Dholak track and bang the sound was playable again, so I pressed play on transport bar to listen again, when I pressed stop, again, unable to get any sound? This is frustrating the hell out of me, as I would like to be able to listen to both the midi performance of stormdrum but also be able to play the sound on my keyboard in order to play along with the drum parts. When playing the keyboard, there is midi going to the play vsti, as I can see the signal in reaper. Press play the midi file plays all the instruments no problem. Once I pressed stop on the transport, I'm unable to play any sounds on any channel? WTF. So I played the midi file just to get an idea how the drum structure works together. I set the tracks up to send to the play vsti track and I was able to play the drum sounds on each channel 1-8 for example. ![]() However this time and as previously, I was playing around with stormdrum 2, I was using one of their multis using a number of drums set to diff midi channels, and I imported a midi file corresponding to the multi, with all drum parts. Well I've been messing with reaper and Eastwest Play again, and this issue has raised it's head again. So obviously its something to do with my multiple routing, does anyone have any experiance with this problem? I can audition a sound no problem without having to press play or record. If I create a VST instrument track and play with only one channel, arm record, turn on monitor in etc. ![]() If I try to audition a sound when the transport is stopped, I get no sound, however when I play a note on the keyboard the track does respond with midi. The problem is when I come to play the sounds on my midi controller keyboard, I can only play the sounds back when I press play or record on the transport. * Create 3 new tracks and assign the sends to 'Play' instrument track, assign each track to their respective Midi channels. * Assign the sounds in 'Play' to a midi channel e.g Godzilla Hits - Midi 1, Toms - Midi 2, Glitched Drums - Midi 3 The problem i'm having is when trying to use a VST instrument with multiple outputs, I am sort of understanding the routing part and follow these steps to create multiple midi channels for example using 'EastWest Play': O.K so I've been using reaper for a wee bit now, and generally just recorded demo's for my band, i'm now using it to compose Trailer music, soundtrack and other genres, so am using more VST instruments. ![]()
